Mixing All rubber compounds are mixed in-house for better control, higher quality, lower cost, and greater consistency. As the mixing process begins, ingredients for each batch of rubber (synthetic or natural rubber, anti-oxidants, binders, reinforcing agents, and pigments) are weighed using electronic scales and then mixed using advanced technology. At every step through this process, written procedures are followed to ensure uniformity and tighter specification control. The ingredients are mixed in a Banbury Mixer which employs advanced mixing technology for consistent and controlled rubber stock Product quality is enhanced by using stock blenders and a 100" mill. Before being released to production, each batch must be approved by our laboratory which ensures that each batch meets the customer's specifications. Further processing takes place in the Stock Preparation Department. Here mixed compounds are cut and measured into pre-forms for compression and transfer molding. Mid-States also fabricates extrusions to customer specifications. Throughout the production process statistical process control methods are used to assure conformance to specifications. We use the following types of rubber:: CPE, ECO, EPDM, Fluorocarbon, Natural, Nitrile, Neoprene, SBR (Styrene Butadiene Rubber), Silicone, TPE and Urethane. Send mail to webmaster@mid-states.com
